Polo tee design ideas for company uniforms
A polo uniform looks right when the layout is planned before the quote. Here are four illustrated layouts to discuss with your team, and what to check on the exact polo you choose.
The four drawings below are illustrations for this guide, not to scale and not photographs of completed orders. Not every combination suits every model. We confirm the model, artwork, positions and quantity when we quote. The one photo near the end is a past order from our polo tees page.
Four layouts to discuss
Layout 1: a restrained chest mark
One mark on the left chest is the quietest option for office and client facing teams. Keep it compact, with clear space between the mark and the placket so it never sits across the buttons. A wide logo often reads better stacked at chest size. Compare embroidery and print on our embroidery page and printing methods.
Layout 2: chest mark plus a sleeve detail
A smaller element on the sleeve adds identity without crowding the front: a symbol from your logo, a short tagline or a programme name. Keep it within the sleeve panel, not across the shoulder or armhole seam, and decide which sleeve before you brief us. List each position separately in your quote request.
Layout 3: chest identity plus a back name or department
This helps people find your staff at events, on site or in large venues. Put the identity on the front and the text on the upper back, below the collar. Decide early: is the back text shared, such as a department, or different per person, such as staff names? Tell us exactly what you want with a clear name list. Separate names or designs change how an order is made, so we confirm the options first, and they may not be priced the same as one shared design.
Layout 4: a two-toned polo with side panels
Some polos already carry colour. Our two-toned honeycomb cotton polo with side panels and the Oren QD64 two-toned polo are listed with contrast details, so the blank does part of the design work. Keep the mark away from the panels, and check the listing photos for where the contrast falls on that model.
Keep the look consistent
- One master logo file. Use it for every position and model so the mark does not drift between batches. Our artwork checklist covers files, colours and fonts.
- Named colours. Send your brand colour references. Thread and ink can look different on different fabrics, so ask how close we can get on your model rather than assuming an exact match.
- Contrast panels. On a two-toned polo, a logo the same colour as the panel can disappear, and a busy mark can fight a strong trim.
Check the cut and size chart
Cuts differ by model. The Oren QD16 is listed as a ladies cut in S to XL, alongside the unisex Oren QD06. For both cuts, collect sizes against each model's chart on our size charts page, or ask us for measurements. A listed size range is not a promise that every colour is in stock in every size; we confirm availability when we quote.
Two listings side by side
| Detail | Two-toned honeycomb cotton | Oren QD06 |
|---|---|---|
| Fabric weight | 210 gsm | 160 gsm |
| Fibre | No percentage given on the listing; ask us for the composition | Listed as 100% microfibre |
| Sizes listed | Typical sizes 3XS to 3XL | 4XS to 3XL, 5XL and 7XL |
| Listing | Two-toned honeycomb cotton polo | Oren QD06 |
Use the exact specification on each listing instead of assuming all dri-fit polos have the same composition or finish. Compare composition, weight, cut and size chart on the exact listing, and see every model on our polo tees page.
Before you ask for a quote
- The model and colour
- Your layout, with each position named
- Artwork for each position
- Whether back text is shared or per person, with a name list if it differs
- The quantity per size for each model
Send them on the quote form or WhatsApp, and we will confirm the method, positions and price per piece.

Polo design FAQ
Planning a polo uniform
planning a layout?
Send your logo, model and layout. Compare models on polo tees.
Ask on WhatsApp Quote formHow do I plan a polo uniform layout?
Start with one chest mark, then add a sleeve or back position only if it helps people recognise your team. Keep marks off the placket, buttons and seams, and send us the layout with your artwork so we can confirm it suits the model.
Can each staff member have a different name on the polo?
Tell us exactly what you want and send a clear name list. Separate names or designs change how an order is made, so we confirm the options first, and the price may differ from a single shared design.
What should I send for a polo uniform quote?
Send the model and colour, your layout with each position named, the artwork, any name list and the quantity per size, using our quote form or WhatsApp.
